December round-up

6th February 2020

For the first time in Weston’s Foodbank history we had to shut our doors. No, we hadn’t run out of food, we ran out of storage space! By the middle of December so many of you had made such generous donations we were full to bursting. It didn’t last long though. December was our busiest month on record with over 750 people being fed, that’s an increase of 18% over the number fed in December 2018. So it’s a good job our donations were 30% up.

A total of 9000kg of food donated by countless groups, individuals and companies. We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of people over the Christmas period. It was a lot of hard work for our outstanding volunteers and a sobering time for us all as we realised the need for the Foodbank just keeps growing.

Thank you for the part you played in making December such a record breaking month.
